I own a Raleigh Tristar tricycle with a Sturmey Archer internal 3 spd hub and coaster brake. I think the pedals should be able to go in reverse; so not to damage the motor or hub. I probably can disable the coaster brake, but then no rear brake! Will a mid drive work with a 3 speed internal hub?, or do I have to get a 5 speed cassette hub with disk brake for better braking? Looks like this is a lot of work. Should I just install a front ebike kit? I'll just have to use the front brake before applying the rear brake. Still will the front ebike kit work with an internal 3 speed hub? Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Jesse

sorry but no, mid drive ebike kits have nothing whatsoever to do with hub motors and are not compatible. they mount in a bottom bracket shell only. we don't recommend any premade ebikes or those with hub motors, only mid drive kits for custom DIY ebikes.
