My 2020 Talon 2 has Rockshox, Alivio, hydraulic disc brakes I got slightly used last spring for $600! I want to keep the 36t for maximum hill climbing. This is not intended to be a commuter. If top speed is 25-28 that's fine. Hopefully the 2x9 with 11x36 cassette 22/36 crank creates a better gear ratio with BBS02 build you have in the YouTube video last October on a Giant Talon.
I want to buy my kit through you, but I didn't see how to choose the 36T chain ring size. BBS02, 52V Super Shark battery, gear and brake sensors, and the smaller tool set will be my likely purchase.
Good Donor? I do have cables going into the frame that could get pinched by the motor right? Fix with rubber chunk on the frame between the cables? Chain line less affected with stock size 36T? The chain stay leaves little room for a larger upgrade chainring (42T maybe?) unless the motor pushes it away from the frame to create clearance? Great videos! I hope to see a Talon 2 build soon!
hey seems like youre on the right track, all doable. Ill let you know in my area (pretty steep and hilly up in the rockies, a 42T lekkie is my sweet spot, able to climb steep gradients (45 degrees) with low pas levels, and the throttle is handy for tough spots. Mine is a 10 speed 11-36t rear cassette, and my top speed on flat is about 50 ish kph so 30mph ish. not super fast but allows me to climb. I noticed even throttling while going up a hill it can tend to want to pop a wheely slightly, so a 36t up front is going to be hella torquey, like a wheely machine. just forewarning you, it may be too much torque, feel free to try another chainring, but u will need a different size chain for each front ring u try, generally. 42t is great all around. gl. also u can see my build just search Victory on this forum
