I have a 2010 Specialized Epic Comp29 bike with full suspension. I believe it has a 73mmx46mm bottom bracket (PF30). I would like to do an e-bike conversion using a Bafang BBS02 kit. It requires a 34mm hole (BSA). I found this adapter (FSA PF30 (46MM) TO BSA (34MM) X 73MM) PART#230-5025). It looks like it would work. Also, is there enough clearance around the motor to accommodate the diameter of the bottom bracket? The other thing is will the battery fit in my frame? I am new to all of this but I have back issues and my full suspension bike is great. I am 67 yrs. old in decent shape and primarily ride rail trails and bike paths so I think this Bafang sounds good. Any suggestions you have are appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
Wow, good looking bike! I'm pretty sure that a battery won't fit on your downtube. It MAY fit inside the triangle. There are templates for batteries that you can print out. These will give you the definitive answer. I can't help with the BB as my builds have always slipped in w/o any probs. Good luck. What did you have to pay for that model if you don't mind telling me. I am thinking to move to a larger tire bike from my present 26"ers
Your bike looks fine for a Bafang mid drive. In fact I suppose I’m answering because I’m looking for an F/S bike to convert. I‘m 69 and my hardtail with the BBSHD is beating my arse up. It’s the bigger hits I don’t see in the rather dark forest. The odd speed bump, pothole, etc.
As far as the bottom goes ? I had a similar exo bearing TruVative where the od of the bearing cups is like 45mm...
Seems to me those adapters are for a larger inside diameter bb shell.
Your bike looks like it will fit just about any down tube battery.
