I agree with Fred. I really don't like proprietory stuff. You'll be locked in to Bafang if you need a new battery or a spare for long rides.

I don't think I would choose that motor. See this note from Bafang: "This new BAFANG ebkie conversion kit is ONLY compatible with BAFANG battery & DPC181 display. Don't connect the motor with other batteries or displays ". And the battery is huge. Might not fit on a lot of bikes.
