Where is the best location for the shift sensor? I have read some posts that with the shift sensor located down near the rear derailleur it is more sensitive to jarring and road bumps. This causing unexpected motor cut out. I have also viewed installs with the shift sensor installed up near the handle bars at the rear derailleur shifter. Getting ready to do an install. Thanks to all for additional info or thoughts.

I wonder: Does it matter which direction the sensor is on the cable. Since it senses movement I think it does not matter just accommodate the cable and wire placement for looks. Is this correct??
Mine is near the rear wheel where I do not have to pull off much length of cable outer sleeve when install the shift sensor! The shift sensor is hidden from view. My bike is the road bike and I don't take if off road where jarring and road bumps are frequent.
.
Thanks!
i suppose you can put it wherever is convenient, just as long as the shifter cable is put through the sensor properly, it just detects cable movement. mine is close to the rear derailleur cable on the upper chainstay, I epoxy bonded the bottom of the sensor to the chainstay to prevent it from moving. works great.
