I want to save weight,. Is the 48v ??? ah 4.5 kg Super Shark Battery a good battery, or should I jump to the 17.5 ah 5.8 kg battery a wiser choice? I can't find the ah spec for the Super Shark batt. My range requirements are moderate (~50 miles) but lots of hills in my area.

ive actually reconsidered my position. weight on an ebike is a big factor. let me give u some range ideas. 50 miles is hard to achieve unless youre only doing low PAS levels 2 or 3 and easyish / flat terrain. on a 52v 20ah triangle battery which is heavy! 15 lbs, i today I did about 24 miles around town / in the mtns using maybe half PAS, half throttle, to climb some steep trails, similarly getting home using some throttle some pedal assist. Juice definitely burns when you full throttle going 60 on smoothish roads. So theoretically you could get 50 miles on my battery with PAS 2/3 and very efficient riding, but I wouldnt count on it. I looked into some custom battery options, and went with a 52v 12ah, which weighs 7 lbs. Also custom batts allow for use on full susp bikes by fitting in a smaller triangle space. 60% capacity of my big battery for 47% weight, a good trade off. the cells are Samsung 40T which pack more power per unit mass from what I can tell. many factors play into the range you can get on a charge. cutting weight is a priority for me now too, as its a bit cumbersome and heavy to handle, also wrecking with that momentum is gonna hurt.
Johnny's the guy, no doubt about it.you have all just plugged in to the man with the plan.i was wondering about these million mile bikes guys. Throttle only will always be 20 miles. All e-bike companies lie about this. All of them. Most all people after 30 miles, there bodies will be crying the blues for days.
go for the bigger battery, why do you care about weight on an ebike? I mean sure you dont wanna load it with 40 lb saddlebags of cargo but if u need that kind of range u need a BIG battery (make sure it fits on the bike first). 1000watt hour or so... even then youll only get 40-50 miles if youre energy efficient (low PAS levels). hills demand more energy
