Thanks for the clarification. I am aware of the gear ratio, less teeth more power less speed, but I was not positive about matching the ring to the motor. I will order accordingly.
the type of chainring must match the motor, so for whatever motor you get you need a corresponding chainring, low amount of teeth = more torque but lower top speeds for hill climbing. high amount of teeth = less torque but higher tops speeds for flatter terrain, 42t is about in the middle. choose accordingly.
