Does anyone know of a clone of John in the Dallas Fort Worth area? I haven't found anyone who repairs or converts bikes to e bikes? Thanks for the help
ill bet theres ebike specialists around, just most bike shops wont touch custom DIY stuff - too scared, dont know how to convert or fix ebikes, dont want liability, etc etc. best way is to DIY your own conversion, learn a lot about bikes in the process, troubleshooting the kinks you run into, and become your own bike mechanic, then you dont have to pay some clown. its not hard, though some things can be frustrating, like gear indexing, drivetrain or other annoying oddball issues. funny i see the demand for ebike shops but very few around, mostly generic bike shops. theres a business opportunity void to be filled there, and that means $. I was considering converting bikes for people, but I realized since I have the best e-mtb money cant buy, any other bike convert would be meh to me, and its not worth my time, not enough money in the industry for a bike tech/converter. mad respect to guys like Johnny though who is an inspiration and leader at the forefront of custom ebiking which is growing in popularity.
@1fitz Yup every shop wants you to buy their own high dollar e bikes and won't touch aftermarket bikes. Ill keep my eyes open see who I can find. Hats off to Johnny for being a trailblazer in niche industry. Theres definitely a need for people like him.
