Alrighty, where to begin...
Aloha guys, I apologize ahead of time if this is a super nooby question, as to we were all noobs at one point as well.
I have a Ride1Up Lmtd, I want a bit more torq/top speed, not buy a whole lot just a bit more. current max watts and speed I can get with a 75% to full charge is 999 watts and 31mph. I due have to try a decent amount just to maintain 31mph, motor alone wont maintain it there at all.
So, I have come and researched multiple options but I can't decide which is the easiest/cheapest but yet sturdiest to go with. I was told I can just add another battery inline and that would give me more torq and obviously more range but no additional top speed. I then started looking at changing out my controller with a higher Amp ( mine currently pulls 22amps supposedly). I like the concept of having about 30-35 +/- amps for that addition torq and increased top speed. But, I also just came across to thinking about hacking/tweaking my current controller to adjust the resistence to trick the controller to get higher amps but then was reading that it doesnt work for controllers that are programmable, which I think mine is due to being able to change it per PAS level on my display. I than came across this video on youtube and saw some interesting facts about the Mid Drive options. I am so lost, I just want to jump up to at least 1500w and at around 35mph. nothing 2 crazy.
Thank you all again for your input.
Appreciate the update and concern about top speed, hence why I mentioned speed for the most part is not what I mainly want, 35 would be fine or even keeping it at 31 stable is fine. The problem I am having at the moment is that the hub just doesn't maintain it there without having to but is a pretty dang good amount of work, which is not a bad thing. I just want to be able to climb hills and what not at ease if I am in for just a cruise and not a work out. Granted, I had a feeling going with a Mid motor would be probably not a realistic solution. But, controller switch and added battery from my understanding would be my best bet. Would you or anyone else know of a great controller that can pull more amps of around 30+- and that is fairly small?
