Hi to all, A weak point to a conversion seems to be the freewheel gear. From everything I have researched there is a small amount of play prior to engaging which causes heavy wear when a motor is applied. Anyone know of any technology to overcome this weak point in the system. I am seriously thinking about doing a conversion to get exactly what would fit my needs and am doing a fair amount of research concerning a Mid Drive install....
Thanks Greg
not sure what youre referring to or where you got that info... drivetrain wear depends on the rider, your skill level and how you operate the ebike. theres nothing better than a mid drive motor, outperforms any other types of motors. you connect a gear shift sensor with bafangs to cut the motor when you shift gears. you may go through chains / cassettes slightly faster than a normal bike, but ive had no issues. 1500 miles on a chain, no problem
