My sensor doesn't always detect my gear changes so there are times when I am expecting the motor to cut out but it doesn't and the result makes me wince. Is there something I can do to increase the sensitivity? I am using a ten gear cassette and wondered if there was not enough movement of the cable sometimes. It seems always to cut out on the double downshifts. It is mounted up next to the gear changer by the handlebars to keep it away from mud and dust.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
are you sure the motor power is not cutting out properly? watch the display during a shift to see the power drop to 0 watts for a half a second, if it goes to 0 for every shift then its working. the small LED on it will flash red when you shift. you may have a gear indexing issue otherwise, if you have any shifting issues. also your gear cable may not be taut enough, less likely. as I understand the sensor just detects cable movement during a shift and tells the motor cut power for 0.5 seconds to allow a smooth shift. so make sure the cable is moving though the sensor enough during a shift.
