very new to the ebike scene and because of personal reasons I needed to find a new form of transportation to work. So with minimal research I bought an ebike at bestbuy. I like the overall bike but wanted to see about ways to bring in some more mph. ive been trying to research what kinda LCD I have to see if it’s a hardware or software cap that limits the speed to 20mph but unfortunately no luck. It’s a 500w rear hub motor with a 46.8v battery. Current limit 16A. Controller model says PRJ-R-005-02-A0 but nothing comes up on a google search. The only hint I get off the LCD is that on the back of the module is a sticker with 48v on it. I’ll be honest, I don’t even know what kinda wires are in the first picture or what they connect to let alone how they connect, because I’ve tried to pull them apart and they almost seem stuck
This is how the bottom wires off the battery look
honestly all im looking for is information pointed in the right direction
please and thank you
Every eBike I have seen has software settings to change the top speed. See if you can get to the settings screen.
If its too late to return, bummer. I was going to get a Sondors Smart step, but I dodged buying a premade ebike and went DIY, as this site is all about. There MAY be some mods you can do if youre lucky, most premade bikes have a proprietary integrated battery or motor system meaning you CANT change them. Likely its a class 2 capped ebike. good luck changing anything, unless theres some software for it. Keep watching jonnys youtube vids and researching, next time dont buy a premade ebike.
