Hello, I have plans to upgrade two existing bikes to electric mid drives. Currently both of my bikes have a 48 tooth, 38 tooth and the inner is a 28 tooth chain drive. I suppose when I make the conversion, I will only have One chain drive, 46 or 42 tooth? So I suppose this eliminates my front shifter as well? Also, I prefer to buy my parts from Johnny Nerdout, however, how does the shipping work?
Thank You,
Eric
Looks great!
I went with the 44t because I then could use my old chain cover with it.
My bike with Bafang BBS02 motor installed.
Yes you will lose your front shift lever. Depending on the kit you will likely have a 44-46t unless you upgrade to a Lekkie, in which case you can chose from 28-52t, each with their own pros and cons 😬 I ship within 1 business day 95% of the time
Hello,
Thanks so much. Time to make this happen!
For converting to electric mid drive, you end up with single chain ring drive - either 44T or 46T chain ring for Bafang mid drive kits. So the front shifter & lever are no longer needed. Depend on your preference, you can buy different chain ring sizes like 40T, 42T, or 52T on the same site. As for the kit shipping, you pay for shipping cost to wherever you are. In my case, I pay $50 for shipping cost to TN. See the shipping cost in attached invoice!
