Hi,
I am looking to try to start making and reselling ebikes in the Montreal Quebec Canada area.
I am good with my hands and doing such things comes naturally to me.
I am in a rush to get going as the season is about to begin.
I feel the best thing to do is buy cheap but good quality components and put them on a used mountain bike.
What would be great is if there was a relevant diy video that is still current and will give me a decent ROI.
I don't mind purchasing the parts from here if the price is the same as I would know my order has everything I need which is my second biggest worry.
Ideally I would love if there was a good diy video (budget) and I can just call/email and just ask for all the components I would need.
good to read
learning custom emtb conversions isnt hard but you should be well versed with mtbikes in general first. but importantly you need to know about proper batteries, safety precautions, and motors. plenty of videos out there on bafang mid drive install. there are bafang, tongsheng and a few other motor kit makers. current best kit is the cyc photon. its a bit pricy around 950$usd. not to be used on cheap bikes. cheaping out doesnt pan out. i dont recommend kits on carbon frames (metal only) as the motors are still too heavy on the BB, which could bust off in the case of a higher speed wreck. johny has plenty of vids its all relatively straightforward
