I am not a bicycle person, but like so many, am looking at potential ebike/NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) options. The most appealing of these that I have looked at (online) are the ELF, CitKar, and (now defunct) Bio-Hybrid.
Yes, I know the term Velomoblie, but this term has evolved into more futuristic totally enclosed vehicles. Keeping a vehicle more in the bike' category (regeneration's and insurance wise) appeals to my nature to keep things as simple as possible.
What I hope to find here is an understanding of the pedal/electric mechanism that assists in moving such a vehicle.
Are the hub and mid motor electric generators ONLY? Are there any of these that function as 'both' - pedal only/pedal plus electrical generation?
Johhny - I am sure you wish to do what you do best - work with 2 (or 3) wheeled bikes, but have you considered branching out into 4 wheeled ebikes? I'd even go so far as to call these eButes (Ute is down under term for pickup) to distinguish them from velomobiles.
That's all for now, if other members here have reference links they know of, please reply and share those. Many Thanks, Jain
My dream is to make an ultra compact vehicle capable of highway speeds. Something that is super affordable and super efficient, both in space and energy. I think a 3 wheeled design is most interesting due to the cost savings and the ability to license it as a motorcycle.
