So I bought one of these light sets from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX9N9JC6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details here's a picture from the listing
It showed up a few days ago and I have a problem. the turn signals light up blue in addition to the amber LEDs that flash to indicate direction. I'm pretty sure blue lights of any kind aren't street legal for any vehicle that isn't a first responder so I'd like to swap them out. To my knowledge, the signals in this kit are motorcycle turn signals that had a connector added that is similar but not identical to the Higo style connectors used on the sensors and throttle for Bafang BBS motors. Identical looking lights with bare leads and a variety of background colors are available from several sellers on Amazon. In case I really mess up trying to solder on new leads to the existing connectors I'd like to know what these connectors are. Here's some pictures comparing the mystery connector and an actual Higo connector. note that the mystery connector type is the smaller one.
To my eyes the mystery connectors are identical to the Higos in overall layout of the pins and mechanical keying element, though the key on the mystery connector goes all the way out to the edge of the connector while it is recessed on the Higo. the colored part of the mystery connector is about 6.85 millimeters in diameter at the flared end and about 6.33 millimeters at the base while the colored end of the regular higo is about 7.85 mm at the tip and about 7.28 at the base. Does anyone here know what these connectors are? Please let me know if you have any guesses.
They are Mystery Connectors. Any manufacturer can make connectors. There are no standards for low voltage stuff like this.
