Hi Guys, I'm a European Citizen and looking for a good Quality battery. Purchased 750 watt bafang Middrive motor of 48V. But I now need to buy a battery, Because I like my house and I Don't Want To Burn It Down, I Would love to get a good Quality battery. But here is the tricky part. I can't seem to find brand names of batteries I can Trust. I am considering buying this battery: https://em3ev.com/shop/em3ev-48v-13s5p-jumbo-shark-ebike-battery/?bundle_quantity_632=1&bundle_variation_id_632=7055&bundle_attribute_pa_13s5p-shark-battery-options_632=48v-17ah-13s5p-35-jumbo&bundle_selected_optional_633=yes&bundle_quantity_633=1&bundle_variation_id_633=1205&bundle_attribute_pa_54-6v-charger_633=54-6v-2a&bundle_quantity_876=1&bundle_variation_id_876=32700&bundle_attribute_pa_charge-adapter_876=without-adapter&bundle_quantity_877=1&bundle_variation_id_877=32710&bundle_attribute_pa_discharge-connector_877=45pp-discharge But I don't know if the seller is trustworthy. Its A Chinese Company. And I don't have money to spill on a manufactuar that does not deliver. Does anyone have Experience buying from this company? Also you have to pay with PayPal Witch in Europe is not very known, and I have Heard horror stories of People having to pay Twice as much on Taxes and Cost from PayPal. Can anyone confirm This Is Safe? Does anyone know any Good European vendors? I really need the battery before The 15th of May. If anyone Knows Any other Good battery Brands or battery packs please let me know! Thanks for the help!

Hey Bert,
Yes, the company is located in China, and it is owned and operated by an Irish engineer who married a Chinese woman and has set up shop with her, and as I understand too, her family. He has been a long time ebike enthusiast and has one of the best reputations in the diy ebike industry. Part of the trust people have in him is that he is, more or less, on the scene where so much of the manufacturing occurs--China.
The batteries sold are bluetooth connected to give you a clearer picture of the health of the battery / (ies) in real time should you want. It's just a matter of downloading an app to set that capability up. If you google communities / ebike diy batteries (like reddit and so forth) EM3ev consistently comes up as a superior and safer choice. His after market support--should you need help--is great as well. I've had a learning curve with understanding ebike batteries, and so a couple of times I have reached out to them via email and the responses were fairly prompt (given time zones!) and EM3ev were very patient working out what my issues were, rest assured the "problems" were user error on my part and not a fault of the battery at all. Overal, I am very, very happy with my two battery purchases from EM3ev. I have different cells than the one in the link you provided, but looking at the battery you're considering, they are Samsung 35e cells--some of the best made, if I were you I would go ahead and purchase.
Caveat, they are more expensive than other batteries available--BUT super-safe compared to the god-awful fly by night operators out there today. Low bar to clear I know. I cannot speak for European / paypal experiences, and included that I'm unaware of current European / German / EU tarrifs / taxes, but here in the USA I had a smooth experience. Of course I had an extra wait as the batteries come by boat not plane from mainland China. They won't be flown due to laws governing transport.
JNO is another company with a great reputation. EM3ev has been around a bit longer actually. I'm sure Johnny will vouch for them if you reach out to him, but I understand your nervousness as I was in the same boat in starting and progressing on my ebike project/s. In looking at the page for JNO batteries "he cannot ship to Hawaii or Alaska" (both parts of the USA) so if you're not in the continental US I rather suspect you won't be able to buy batteries from Johnny. And your goal of delivery by mid May here in the US might not work either for EM3ev, as again slow transport. If you're in Europe it might be quicker? I would reach out to EM3ev or Johnny depending on what continent you're on--they'll answer.
Good Luck on your build!! Keep us Posted if You Can.
Have you communicated with JNO ?
