this is why it pays to go custom with batteries also. you pay more, maybe double in some cases but you know what cells youre getting, all the specs, and a quality pack. rather than cheap cells in a bulky plastic case taking up more space and weight, which you cant identify... i wouldnt buy a pack without knowing what kind of cells are in it, for starters.

Some batteries require a bit of work to open them, and some can actually be damaged in the process, so be careful doing so. In general, resellers should have a good relationship with their supplier and have trust. I have opened up my packs randomly and they have always checked out. However I bought a batch off Amazon and opened them up and found them to be counterfeit. I actually ended up making a video out that as well.

Unfortunately it’s still the Wild West as far as standards go 😢
