Hello everyone, I have a bafang bbs01b that was sounding like a diesel engine. The motor spins, and all the electronics are fine, but it's terribly inefficient and the noise was becoming worse and worse over time.
I took the motor apart to see where the issue lied, and have come back with these 2 findings:
The nylon gear has some play around its shaft (check video): https://youtu.be/TMfEj5IzRVc/
The rotor is rubbing against the stator and is the main culprit behind the noise: http://youtu.be/Yk75d-x7k6g/
When I took the rotor out, I found that the bearing is stuck to the stator's housing rather than the rotor's shaft. I also found that there's some misalignment of some sort between the rotor and the stator that's causing the rubbing to happen, but I couldn't identify the source. Can anyone help with this issue? I would like to know which parts I should be replacing, or if the whole rotor/stator assembly needs to go. Happy to book a consultation if anyone can assist me with this. Thanks!
