8th gear has fewest teeth to take the load and is the point where the chain tensioning function aspect of the derailer is maxed out, 7th is right next door. Put in first gear and ascertain if you can tighten the chain by removing a link or two. Might solve the problem. Also look closely at the alignment of the chainring to the cassette. Perhaps the chainring is a bit inset and should be spaced outboard a bit. Dont overlook the obvious, inspect everything very carefully. The problem, and solution, should reveal itself with careful inspection...
11 to 34 on the rear and a 46 standard bafang on the front .Road riding on the flat no hills. Seems to skip worst in 7th gear .
ok what is your gear teeth range on the rear cassette, and the how many on the front chain ring? wider chain stay bike to accommodate fatter tire or? sometimes a lower tooth ring is needed up front to bring the chain line in a bit. 42t front ring seems to be the sweet spot generally for climbing and speed, all terrain use. sometimes a stock front chainring wont grab the chain as well, if you cant adjust things to get it from skipping chain you may want to try a lekkie blingring 42t which will grab the chain better, preventing skips. let us know your use case (terrain type) and gear details so we can know whats an ideal setup for you
